It’s almost impossible to find a detached house within a reasonable price range in the centre of Bangkok – not so for Muang Thong Thani, here, if you wish to setup a home for a young family then MTT is vastly more affordable and healthier to boot.
Muang Thong Thani has a couple of areas with detached housing, mostly around the lake and around Bond Street. The styles of houses on offer vary from Old Thai/Chinese style to the more modern European style. These houses usually come with a big garden.
Due to MTT’s growth, more “Moo Baans” – or gated communities are being built. These mini-villages offer 24 hour patrolling security guards, communal facilities such as fitness studios, swimming pools and parks.
Because these villages are setup in a more traditional way you will find there is more of a community spirit within them, with neighbours more likely to help each other out etc.
There are already a few gated communities in MTT:
- The Plant Jangwattana has detached houses with gardens.
- The Plant City and The Patio Village both have 3 floor luxurious town houses located right next to the express way.
- The Connect Village has small 2 floor town houses.
These houses are of course subject to availability but there are more being built as you read this.
